Ngorongoro crater

Tour of the Ngorongoro Crater

After breakfast, we will head to the Ngorongoro Conservation Area, one of the most famous safari sites in the world, declared a UNESCO World Heritage Site in 1978 and an International Biosphere Reserve in 1981.

Ngorongoro Crater is located at 2,200 meters above sea level and is the largest uninterrupted caldera in the world, and one of Africa’s natural wonders with the presence of about 30,000 large mammals living in it all year round, such as buffaloes, lions, elephants, cheetahs and rhinoceroses. It is also home to a wide variety of birds, such as flamingos, eagles, buzzards, ostriches and hawks.

Permits for game drives inside the Crater are valid for up to 6 hours.

The centre of the crater is occupied by Lake Magadi, with shallow waters that tend to almost dry up during the dry season, and is the best spot from which to observe flocks of flamingos and crowned cranes, in addition to a large number of herbivores, particularly a great number of wildebeests and zebras who come here to drink, attracting the presence of lions and hyenas.

We leave for the park early in the morning and return to the tent camp at about 6:30 pm.

Packed lunch will be served in the park.

The safari continues after lunch along the road from the NCA to the Serengeti.

The enchanting Serengeti Park

We visit the Serengeti National Park after breakfast; this extraordinary place where legend meets reality is the oldest and largest park in Tanzania, covering an area of 14,763 square kilometers, so much so that its name, of Masai origin, Siringet, means “Plain without borders”.

You will be greeted by endless plains and the great migration of herbivores, especially wildebeests and zebras, prides of lions, and other predators such as hyenas, cheetahs, leopards, jackals, crocodiles…

We will leave for the park early in the morning and return to the lodge by 6 pm.

Packed lunch will be served in the park.

Dinner and overnight accommodation at tented camp in Seronera.

DAY 5

Fauna Serengeti National Park

The Fauna of the Serengeti Park

After breakfast, we will continue our exploration of the extraordinary Serengeti National Park.

Its boundless prairies are occasionally punctuated by bizarre granite formations – kopjes, in whose cracks often form small pools of rainwater, attracting a number of small animals, as well as large predators such as lions who like to lie in them or hide in wait of a possible prey.

You can see crocodiles, hippos and many other water animals along the rivers, including leopards that often bask in the branches of the umbrella acacias present here.

We will set out for the park early in the morning and return to the lodge by 6pm.

Packed lunch will be served at the park.

After lunch, the photo Safari continues along the road from Serengeti to the NCA, forging on with a transfer to Karatu.

(Estimated transfer time Serengeti – Karatu: 3 hours 30 minutes)

Dinner and overnight accommodation at the lodge.
