In fact, the design of the Tanzanian flag incorporates some features found in the previous two. <\/p>\n<p><img fetchpriority=\"high\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-3702\" src=\"https:\/\/safariavventura.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/11\/Bandiera-della-Tanzania.jpg\" alt=\"Flag of Tanzania\" width=\"1200\" height=\"628\">The flag consists of a black diagonal line with finer yellow edges, dividing it in half. The upper left part is completely green, while the lower right part is blue. <\/p>\n<h2 style=\"text-align: center;\">The meaning of colors<\/h2>\n<p>The flag consists of 4 different colors, each of which was chosen to represent a characteristic of Tanzania.<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><span style=\"color: #000000;\">The color black represents Swahili, or the culture of the peoples living on the coast of Tanzania, and Bantu, or the ethno-linguistic group of sub-Saharan Africa.  <\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"color: #000000;\">Yellow\/gold represents the mineral wealth and the many deposits in this area  <\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"color: #000000;\">Blue represents the Great Lakes region, namely Lake Tanganyika, Victoria, Albert, Eduardo, Kivu, and Malawai, and the Indian Ocean on which its coastline is bordered and in which its islands, such as <a href=\"https:\/\/safariavventura.com\/isole-della-tanzania\/pemba-island\/\">Pemba<\/a>, <a href=\"https:\/\/safariavventura.com\/isole-della-tanzania\/isola-di-mafia\/\">Mafia <\/a>, and, of course, the<a href=\"https:\/\/safariavventura.com\/isole-della-tanzania\/arcipelago-di-zanzibar\/\">Zanzibar Archipelago<\/a>, are immersed.  <\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"color: #000000;\">Finally, green represents the country&#8217;s enormous plant and wildlife wealth, making it one of the most popular safari destinations in Tanzania, precisely because of its extraordinary flora and fauna.  <\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h2 style=\"text-align: center;\">The history of the Flag<\/h2>\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\">From 1891 to 1919 Tanzania, and consequently its flag, was that of the German East Africa Company.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter wp-image-1436\" src=\"https:\/\/safariavventura.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/11\/Compagnia-dellAfrica-Orientale-Tedesca.png\" alt=\"\" width=\"600\" height=\"400\"><\/p>\n<p>From 1919 to 1961 Tanzania&#8217;s flag was that of the Tanganyika Territories, and it bore the emblem of Great Britain to indicate its dominance.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter wp-image-1439\" src=\"https:\/\/safariavventura.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/11\/bandiera-dei-territori-del-tanganica-1024x512.png\" alt=\"\" width=\"601\" height=\"301\"><\/p>\n<p>From 1961 to 1964 it was the Tanganyika flag that represented Tanzania, a flag that has been strongly revived in the current version.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter wp-image-1440\" src=\"https:\/\/safariavventura.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/11\/bandiera-del-tanganica.png\" alt=\"tanganyika flag\" width=\"600\" height=\"400\"><\/p>\n<p>From 1896 to 1963 Tanzania was represented by the Flag of the Sultanate of Zanzibar, a British protectorate.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-1441\" src=\"https:\/\/safariavventura.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/11\/bandiera-del-sultanato-di-zanzibar.png\" alt=\"flag of the sultanate of zanzibar\" width=\"600\" height=\"400\"><\/p>\n<p>From 1963 to 1964 Tanzania was represented by a new Flag of the Sultanate of Zanzibar, no longer a protectorate.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-1442\" src=\"https:\/\/safariavventura.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/11\/bandiera-del-sultanato-di-zanzibar-2.png\" alt=\"\" width=\"600\" height=\"400\"><\/p>\n<p>From January to April 1964, before the current flag went into use, Tanzania was represented by the flag of the People&#8217;s Republic of Zanzibar and Pemba.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter wp-image-1443\" src=\"https:\/\/safariavventura.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/11\/repubblica-popolare-di-zanzibar-e-pemba.png\" alt=\"\" width=\"600\" height=\"400\"><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>The flag of Tanzania, formally known as the United Republic of Tanzania, is composed of typical African colors, and was adopted on June 30, 1964, to replace the individual flags of Tanganyika and Zanzibar,following their union.
